ABOUT AMELIA
Welcome to Kickin’ Crohn’s! My name is Amelia Meyers. I am an actress, a singer/songwriter, a wife, a mother, a voice teacher, an arts therapist, a small business owner, and the current Mrs. Maryland Petite USA! My platform is Kickin' Crohns along with Crohn’s disease awareness and advocacy.
I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease when I was 17 years old. After years of trial and error with different medications, I nearly lost my life to the disease in July of 2012. It became my mission to help as many people as possible and normalize Crohn's disease by bringing it mainstream. Finding the right medication for me combined with tweaking my diet made all the difference. Along with officially partnering with the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, my goal is to create a community for those affected by the disease where we can come together and support each other in safe, non-judgmental place.
I invite you to join us every week for the Kickin’ Crohn’s support group on Wednesdays at 2pm EST/11am PST. Come and share, listen, cry, laugh, scream, and anything in between. It is time to shed light on the importance of giving the Crohn’s community a voice, the support we need, and a home where you can regain yourself. We have this disease, it is part of who we are, but it does not define us. You can take back your health, you can take back your life. I am so excited to meet you!
